My identity as a writing teacher

     Teacher professional identity is defined as the beliefs, values, and commitments an individual holds toward being a teacher as distinct from another professional and being a particular type of teacher e.g. an urban teacher, a beginning teacher, a good teacher, an English teacher, etc.

     From my childhood I very fond of writing things than reading text. I always keep writing notes for every activity. I used to write dairy also. I strongly believe that those hearts are clean, whose writing is elegant. So that I always prompt my children to write stories on their own. Some times they might write some small poems, rhymes also. we make them professional in English writing by applauding and prompt them to write various discourses in English.

     The following are the essential qualities that a good English teacher should have:

• Patience. Remember that students are different. ...
• Adaptability. Teachers should adapt themselves to all students that they are handling. ...
• Openness. English teachers should be active listeners. ...
• Experience. ...
• Energy.

     To engage in the identity work of writers, students need to write and talk about writing with their peers. Many teachers are already doing this in the form of peer revision. Although we agree with that kind of peer work, we are advocating for the time when students read their work and talk about both content and structure.

     Five psychological processes were found to be involved in the development of teacher identity: a sense of appreciation, a sense of connectedness, a sense of competence, a sense of commitment, and imagining a future career trajectory.

     Another important aspect of increasing the sense of belonging to the profession is student teachers' conferences, research work, and communication with peers. During studies, reflection should be encouraged by offering students assignments for the development of professional and personal growth.
